Addressing a House committee, Jeanne presents her proposal to prohibit "golden parachutes." These are "sweetheart deals" that government officials occasionally negotiate for themselves as part of a severance package, or buy-out, at taxpayer expense.

Jeanne explains the key provisions of her Crime Victim Rights legislation to the press (not pictured) while Governor Romer signs the bill. Victim rights advocates and law enforcement personnel surround the Governor's desk in support.

Joined by amendment supporters, Jeanne speaks from a podium of the State Capitol steps, urging the citizens of Colorado to vote for her proposal establishing constitutional rights for crime victims. Citizens overwhelming said “YES” at the November election.
